Connect your AI agent to Ansehn
Connect Claude, Codex, Cursor or another MCP-compatible agent to one Ansehn project, and it can read the same data Copilot uses: scores, citations, buying simulations, content actions, your pages and AI crawler activity. You connect with a project API key, either through the MCP server or through the Capabilities API over HTTPS.
What your agent can do
Your agent sees only the project the key belongs to, and only the capabilities the key's scopes allow.
Read your project data. Setup (monitors, prompts, personas), the AI answers for each prompt, visibility and share-of-voice scores, competitor comparisons, sentiment, domain and URL citations, buying simulations and cockpit metrics, content actions and the content log, your own pages, and AI crawler activity from server logs.
Update the status of content actions. With the Content Actions Write scope, your agent can set a content action to open, in progress, in review, done or archived. This is the only change an API key can make.
Other changes, such as editing personas, prompts, competitors or buying-simulation schedules, are available only in Copilot inside Ansehn, where a person confirms each change. See the article "Work with Copilot in Ansehn".
MCP server or HTTP API
Both give access to the same capabilities with the same key. Choose by how your agent works.
MCP server | Capabilities API (HTTP) | |
|---|---|---|
Best for | AI assistants and coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and VS Code | Scripts, scheduled jobs and your own applications |

Before you start
You need the Owner, Admin or Agency role on the project to create an API key. Viewers cannot create keys.
A key acts with the permissions of the person who created it. If that person loses access to the project, the key stops working.
ChatGPT cannot connect yet, because it does not support API keys for MCP servers.
