The connector still sends an old API key in a request header, so no sign-in is needed. Remove the connector, add it again with only the address, and revoke the old key.
Connect Claude or ChatGPT to Ansehn
Add Ansehn as a connector in Claude or ChatGPT, sign in to Ansehn in your browser and pick one project. You don't need an API key: the assistant gets access to that project with your permissions, and you can disconnect it at any time.
This works in Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop and Cowork), ChatGPT and other AI assistants that support MCP connectors with sign-in. For coding agents and scripts that use an API key, see API keys and scopes.
Before you start
You need an Ansehn account that is a member of at least one project. Any role works, including Viewer.
You need a plan in Claude or ChatGPT that allows custom connectors.
The connector address is
https://api.ansehn.com/v1/mcp.
Connect Claude
A connector you add on claude.ai is also available in Claude Desktop and Cowork.
In Claude, open Settings > Connectors and click Add custom connector.
Enter the name Ansehn and the address
https://api.ansehn.com/v1/mcp. Leave the advanced settings empty.Click Connect. The Ansehn sign-in page opens in your browser.
Sign in with your email and password, Google or SSO.
Choose the project and click Allow access. You return to Claude, and the connector shows as connected.
If you connected Ansehn with an API key in a request header before, remove that connector first and add it again without any headers. Otherwise Claude keeps using the key and never shows the sign-in page. Then revoke the old key in Project Settings > API Keys.
Connect ChatGPT
ChatGPT connects to Ansehn only through sign-in; it doesn't support API keys for connectors.
In ChatGPT, add a custom connector with the address
https://api.ansehn.com/v1/mcpand choose sign-in (OAuth) as the authentication method.Sign in to Ansehn in the browser window that opens.
Choose the project and click Allow access. You return to ChatGPT.
Choose a project and permissions
Each connection gives one assistant access to one project. To use several projects, add the connector once per project.
Read your project data is always included: scores, competitors, citations, AI answers, buying simulations, content actions, your pages and AI crawler visits.
Update content action status is optional and unticked by default. It lets the assistant mark content actions as in progress, done or archived. You can only turn it on for projects you can edit.
A connected assistant can't change personas, prompts, competitors or schedules, can't start simulations or spend credits, and never sees your other projects. Those changes happen only in Copilot inside Ansehn, after you confirm them.
Before you click Allow access, check the address shown on the page, for example claude.ai or chatgpt.com. Only continue if you started the connection yourself.
How long a connection lasts
The assistant stays connected without you signing in again, as long as you use it at least once every 30 days. After 30 days without use, connect it again.
A connection always acts with your current permissions on the project. If you leave the project, lose access or your account is disabled, the connection stops working immediately.
See and disconnect connected apps
Every connection to a project is listed in Project Settings > Connected apps, with the app, who connected it, its access, when it was last used and how many requests it made in the last 30 days.
Open your project and go to Project Settings > Connected apps.
Click the delete icon next to the app and confirm with Disconnect.
The app loses access to the project on its next request. You can disconnect apps you connected yourself. Owners, Admins and Agency members can also disconnect apps that other people connected.
Troubleshooting
Claude connected immediately without showing the Ansehn sign-in page
The sign-in page says "No project to connect"
Your account isn't a member of any Ansehn project yet. Ask a project owner to invite you, then connect again, or sign in with another account.
The sign-in page says the connection link has expired
A connection link is valid for about ten minutes. Start the connection again from Claude or ChatGPT.
The assistant stopped working and asks you to connect again
The connection was disconnected in Connected apps, you lost access to the project, or it wasn't used for 30 days. Connect it again.
